A bottle warmer is a great helper for many new parents during the feeding phase. It quickly heats milk to the perfect temperature, neither scalding the mouth nor chilling the stomach, ensuring a safe drinking experience for babies at all times. However, after using it for a while, some parents find that the temperature seems to be getting less accurate—the milk is either too cold or too hot. These temperature deviations are often not signs of a complete breakdown, but rather minor issues that accumulate over time. In fact, with three simple self-check steps, you can restore your bottle warmer to optimal condition.

1. Check if the temperature sensor probe is covered with dirt.
The temperature sensor probe is the “nerve center” of the heater, which senses temperature and controls the start and stop of heating. After long-term use, milk stains, scale, or mineral deposits may form a thin film on the surface of the probe, affecting its accurate temperature sensing. This is especially common when using tap water or not cleaning regularly. When
cleaning, unplug the power first, wait for the machine to cool completely, and then gently wipe the inside of the heating tank with a soft, damp cloth. If there is a lot of scale, soak it in a small amount of white vinegar and water for ten minutes, then wipe it clean with a clean cloth. Remember not to use a metal brush or strong acid cleaners to avoid damaging the probe. After cleaning, retest it and you will be surprised to find that the heating accuracy often improves immediately.

2. Confirm whether the heating base and the container fit tightly together. The temperature control of
the bottle warmer depends not only on the probe but also on the efficiency of heat conduction. If the bottom of the bottle or the heating container is uneven, the position is not correct, or there is even an air layer in the middle, it will cause uneven temperature transfer. As a result, although the machine detects the target temperature, the liquid in the bottle is not actually heated to the right temperature.
To solve this problem, first check whether the heating base is flat and clean, and whether there are any residual water stains or foreign objects. Secondly, make sure that the material of the bottom of the bottle is suitable. Some glass bottles are thicker and require a slightly longer heating time. For bottles with silicone bottom pads, it is also recommended to remove the pad before inserting to avoid blocking the heat.
